Ellen Block has been elected president of the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches for the 2012-2013 year. Block takes over the leadership role from Monica Manolas and will focus on an aggressive campaign to provide the means for women of Palm Beach County to get education in their chosen career fields.
“Executive Women of the Palm Beaches is dedicated to the successful advancement of women in the workplace,” Block said, adding that this year’s 30th-anniversary theme of EWPB is “Exploring Our Leadership Edge.”
“We are one of perhaps hundreds of women’s organizations across our nation dedicated to the successful advancement of women in the workplace while at the same time taking care to nurture and protect a high-level quality of life,” Block said. “What distinguishes us is that we have been doing this for 30 years.”
Other EWPB officers elected for the 2012-2013 year include President-Elect Minx Boren; Secretary Trish Lowry; Treasurer Nanette Norton Winzell; and Treasurer-Elect Misty Travani.
Elaine Meier and Suzy Petersen were named 2012 Members of the Year, and Ethel Isaacs Williams was named new Member of the Year.
